The strongest letters of recommendation come from those that have directly supervised you or who have direct knowledge of your analytical, logical and reading comprehension skills.
If you are finishing up your undergraduate degree or have recently graduated, most law schools will expect that your LOR's will be from your professors. If you have been out of school for a couple of years, then it will be expected that your LOR's will be from employers, supervisors and other individuals who can attest to your other qualities.
If you haven't already lined up your LOR writers, then start early. The professors that write the strongest and most compelling letters usually gets asked all the time. Also, do them a favor and provide the letter writer with a current resume. The more detail they provide in your LOR, the more compelling it will be.
